SPACE 2018

The new Astronaut Training Experience (ATX) at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex opened in February 2018.  ATX will host our conference attendees interested in two out of this world experiences on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in sessions beginning at 4:30 p.m.

These experiences are available for an additional cost and includes tax and registration processing fees.  If interested, select this option during Conference Registration while space is available.  This option is ONLY available for purchase at the time of conference registration; it may NOT be added later.  More slots may be available after the current session closes, but you can only attend the session time for which you purchase your ticket.

Spacewalk Training $45:  Train for weightlessness and conduct your own spacewalk in the microgravity simulator. You and your crew will work together in order to successfully complete a series of training challenges needed to set you on a path to Mars, all while in a frictionless environment.  Allow 45 minutes.  Participants must be at least 48 inches/1.22 meters tall. Maximum weight 275 pounds/127 kilograms.

SOLD OUT!!  Mars Simulators $55:  Navigate the Martian surface! These full-motion simulations place you in the Commander and Pilot seats where you hone your skills and drive over the rough Mars terrain. You will also experience the sensation of walking on Mars through virtual reality. Nowhere else on Earth can you explore Mars quite like this.  Allow 60 minutes.  If you experience seizures, loss of awareness, eye strain, altered vision or other visual abnormalities, dizziness, disorientation, or any symptom related to motion sickness, you should not participate.  Guests who have pre-existing binocular vision abnormalities should not participate.

Both options may be selected during registration; however, you are responsible to ensure the session times you select do not overlap.

These sessions are limited to conference attendees only.  Due to safety instructions and the interactive content essential to this program, each guest must be fluent in English in order to participate.

ATX Session Safety Information:  All participants MUST wear closed-toed shoes and no skirts/dresses.  For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this experience.  Expectant mothers should not participate.
