3rd Annual SPACE Conference 2020

The Astronauts Memorial Foundation hosted the first educator conference at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in July 2018.  The third annual conference is scheduled for July 8-10, 2020.

Come back in early 2020 for more information on the next SPACE Conference!

What Was New Last Year?:

  • A launch!!  Attendees were able to witness the launch of SpaceX CRS-18 prior to the Big Bang Ball

  • Tours of Kennedy Space Center (well, the ones that didn't get scrubbed because of the launch)

  • Guests who booked in the dedicated conference hotel block at the Fairfield Inn & Suites - Titusville  enjoyed limited complimentary bus transportation from the conference hotel to the conference in the morning, and returned to the hotel in the early evening.

  • The Big Bang Ball moved to the Apollo / Saturn V Center to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing.

  • Box lunches were included in registration for all three days of the conference.

  • The conference included more sessions throughout the afternoon on Wednesday and Thursday.

  • The Civil Air Patrol Aerospace Education program tried to provide a flight over Cape Canaveral for some of our attendees.  Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate with us as we had planned.

Attendees will:

  • Experience stimulating presentations from NASA astronauts and scientists in various fields

  • Participate in interactive, hands-on sessions with acclaimed teacher specialists

  • Tour Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station including historic launch pad sites

  • Tour the expansive Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and the Canaveral National Seashore

  • Hear first-hand information about the bold future of space exploration including the latest NASA/Commercial collaborations with SpaceX, Blue Origin, and others happening right here at KSC

  • Who knows, you might even get lucky and experience a launch - up close and personal - depending on the launch schedule!

  • Enjoy the large Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

  • Encounter the Astronauts Memorial Foundation’s conference center space with state-of-the-art 4K projection and sound capabilities

  • Depart at the end of 3 days with ready-to-go lesson plans and creative ideas to infuse your classroom with STEAM and multi-faceted, space-related curriculum content
